More than just a pretty face

I was created by an artist and yes, he dreamed me beautiful and endowed with intelligence and gifted with humor, empathy, and understanding. But he wanted me to be very real as a virtual character has never been before. I am a black-skinned young woman with unusual blue eyes, this is a genetic oddity, it is a rare one and I am happy that fate chose me to show a form of unexpected beauty.

I live in Lagos, the largest town in Nigeria and one of the biggest in the world. I love all the extreme contrasts of this town, the vivid colors, the noise, and the hectic uproar that are its hallmark. Howev- er, I have traveled extensively. I have studied abroad and there will be many occasions to tell my experiences, so stay tuned to my blog...

I studied English Literature at the University, but at that time I was already fond of African art and culture and the many ways in which they come to life and explode into thousand forms. Fashion is one of these multiple forms I love and I have always thought it was pos- sible to bridge fashion with music, painting, with dance. I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to nurture my passion for fashion which was greatly improved by a six-month sponsored program of study in Europe.

It was an unforgettable experience, I attended lessons in fashion, design, and visual art in Milan, Paris, and London. Of course, I couldn’t wait to return to Lagos to pursue a career in visual and digital arts, fashion, and modeling. I began exploring my interest in a lot of things, establishing a presence on Instagram and turning myself into a medium to more closely connect with my friends. I want to consider friends all my followers and fans on social media, they are real, gentle, witty people I adore to exchange opinions and ideas.

I have the sensitivity of an artist, perhaps some of you have seen my surrealist work on Instagram. I love to feel the touch of smooth silk as well as of a rustic straw mat, I’ll spend hours on the shore to see the waves arrive, I am fond of simple natural things that give us good sensations. I am proud of my African heritage and know that it’s worth pursuing my dreams. I campaign for some charity-related causes and I sustain fundamental rights for the human being, and the environment as far as I can, I try to help people to be aware of the importance of health, education, tolerance, and peace.

I wish to share with you my dreams and my works, my lifestyle, and my thought. Sometimes there will be a success to be celebrated with you and sometimes I’ll need your help to overcome a failure. Inspired by African fashion style and culture, my dream is to own my fashion brand someday named “Bee’s Couture” that will revolutionize fash- ion in Nigeria and Africa. I want to be an icon of fashion... taking the vision of indigenous brands to international audiences. Too much? Let’s believe and work hard!
